This wonderful coat was made in the 1940s from a soft wool and mohair blend in a gorgeous rich lipstick red shade. It was cut in the classic loose fitting swing silhouette of the period with beautiful volume to the body of the coat. The oversized shawl collar features stunning top stitched detailing and can be worn both down or turned up for added drama. The turn up cuffs on the voluminous sleeves mirror the collar’s topstitch detailing for a lovely touch of symmetry and the functional slit pockets give a practical feature. The coat fastens with two buttons at the front which are hidden behind a fabric placket when fastened. Inside, the coat features a wonderfully warm quilted satin lining and a maker’s label for Rensor of London.

The coat is in good condition, however there are a number of external grazes and well disguised repairs, which are barely noticeable due to the fabric texture as well as some wear to the lining as pictured.
